This week I got my first review copy from Librarything. Thank you! Also, I have to thank the publisher, Wolf Trail Press. I haven't finished it yet, but I will post a review once I'm finished.

I also picked up City of Bones by Cassandra Clare and One Foot in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood) [may contain spoilers]

I LOVE the Brothers! True! Lover Unleashed is the most recent installment in J. R. Ward's BDB series.

Manny who we met in Jane and V's book is back. Payne, V's sister (side note: Payne wasn't aware that her brother was still alive), is severely injured in the previous book, so they bring in Manny to operate. He is immediately attracted to Payne, and the attraction is mutual. I enjoyed the scenes between the couple; however, I would have preferred if there was a little more attention to developing their relationship, because it just seems that an equal amount of time was spent on V and Jane's relationship, which isn't a bad thing, but it really seems like a shared book.

Manny is an interesting character and he has an interesting connection to the Brothers that doesn't come to light until near the end of the book. Payne compliments Manny nicely, and I am glad that she has been reunited with V.

And here is where I complain about Qhuinn and Blay. If you've heard me gripe about this before, I'm sorry. I love these two characters, but Qhuinn makes me want to bang my head against the wall...I was okay until Blay started seeing Saxton. I like Saxton and I want to see Blay happy, but he isn't in love with Saxton and Saxton knows it. I'm waiting for Qhuinn to get his head out of his butt and say something to Blay! I've heard that they will get their own novella, but they are breaking my heart! I think they have some of the most memorable scenes in the series.

I genuinely enjoy reading about the Brothers, and I am looking forward to the next book!

Shadowfever by Karen Marie Moning...

I adore Karen and her writing. If you haven't read her Highlander or Fever series, I highly recommend both. Though the series are loosely connected, they are entirely different. One is told in third person, and the other is told entirely from Mac's POV. Some characters from the Highlander series make appearances in the Fever series. Also, the Fever series is more urban fantasy than romance.

After two major cliffhangers (Faefever and Dreamfever), Shadowfever answers some question, and leaves others unresolved, which is okay because Karen said she isn't completely finished with the Fever world. She does throw in quite a monkey wrench at the end, but it makes total sense! Without giving too much away...let's just say someone is NOT who he says he is. After finishing the last page I can't wait to see what she has in store for her readers next!

Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane (spoilers)

I am almost finished Unholy Ghosts. I was fortunate to meet Stacia at Karen Marie Moning's FeverCon last year in Atlanta. She was lovely and I hope I get to speak with her again, because I had not read her books at the time.

Chess Putnam works as a Church Debunker, and tries to expose people who would try to scam the Church out of money. After being dragged into a job she really didn't want to do, she soon discovers that the very people she works with might be responsible a number of deaths, including Brain, who is just a kid. Chess has some issues surrounding her past, so it is easy to understand her drug use, but she realizes her faults and just does the best she can.

Even though I haven't quite finished, I've really enjoyed this book and I'll be looking for the rest of the series!

Reading challenges...and loving a new series...

I've decided to do some reading challenges! I am SO excited. I'm also hoping to turn this into a blog about books, since I LOVE to read :) I will be doing regular updates on my progress with the challenge!!

Recently, a friend recommended the Sinners on Tour series by Olivia Cunning. It is SUCH an awesome series!! I love her characters. They each seem to have their own quirks and they endear themselves to the reader. Totally recommend this series.

This the first book in the Sinners on Tour series and it starts out with a bang! This book is hot! I love how Brian and Myrna meet at the hotel where Myrna is attending a conference. She is actually a professor who specializes in human sexuality, so naturally she intrigues the band right off. Brian becomes attached to Myrna almost from the moment they meet and the feeling is mutual. There are some very memorable scenes in this book *cough* bathtub *cough* and lots of voyeurism, but you can tell the characters have a very close relationship that has developed over the years. I was sad when this book ended because I was not ready to leave the characters!

This is the second book in the series. Sed's book. Not quite as steamy as the first one, but definitely smoking. (Spoilers) Sed and Jess had not seen each other in 2 years, but when she loses her money for school and takes a job as an exotic dancer...boy does Sed get a shock seeing her when they take Brian out for a bachelor party. Jess and Sed rekindle their relationship, even though Jess is determined to remain independent and put herself through law school.

I LOVE these characters and I'll be waiting eagerly for Trey's book. Well, don't think I have anything else to add, LOL. Have a great week everyone!!
